Living Room The One That Got Away

Our living room in our new house looks like it did the day we moved in.

The reason it is empty is cause we are searching for the perfect couch for it. And I think I might have found it!  Unfortunately it was on craigslist and the people never responded to our messages which makes me think that it's been sold. (Insert sad face here).

$150 was a perfect price for it and would've left more than enough room in our budget to perfectly customize it. We would have had  it reupholstered to the fabric of our choice. I've seen similar couches go for $2000-$3000. So I'm a bit sad that we couldn't get it. I usually feel kind of iffy about purchasing upholstered furniture secondhand, but I would have made an exception with this couch. I figured we would have had all of the fabric replaced anyway.

Anyway, we'll have to keep on looking, but meanwhile I'm daydreaming about how that room could look. I've created a mood board to have all of my ideas in one place.

On the other side of the living room will be a small office. I'm in love with this desk and will keep my eyes peeled for something similar to it. We have a pair of maps that we purchased on our trip to NYC this summer, cannot wait to put them up over our desk. I absolutely want a big piece of art hanging over the couch. And really really want a fig tree to bring in some life into the room. I know the room looks like there is no color going on. But I like bringing my colors in through accessories like pillows and throws and maybe even the curtains.

Here are a few images I've saved on my Decor I Adore Pinterest board that kind of show the feel I want in the room .

I'll keep you updated on how things go in this room. I'll also share some projects I've already been working on. I'm so excited to be back on the blog! Kisses!
